Challenges Vee Occupational Therapy addresses:

Cognitive (thinking), motor, and sensory:

  • Difficulty with attention

  • Decreased memory

  • Challenges with problem-solving

  • Difficulty with executive functioning (planning, self monitoring, self and emotional control, working memory, organization, time management, initiation, and flexibility)

  • Difficulty tolerating or attending to daily tasks due to sensory modulation challenges

  • Impaired motor skills, such as strength and coordination, and/or pain affecting daily activity performance

Higher level independent living skills:

  • Difficulty with money management and impulsive spending

  • Inconsistent school and/or work attendance

  • Limited ability to fulfill work responsibilities & maintain employment

  • Difficulty managing school/college coursework 

  • Trouble with keeping your personal space clean/organized

  • Difficulty with household management tasks, such as regular laundry completion, grocery shopping, meal planning and preparation

  • Difficulty establishing and maintaining routines 

Basic independent living skills:

  • Challenges in maintaining basic hygiene such as bathing, grooming, and oral hygiene

  • Poor self care habits such as sleep, nutrition, and physical activity

Stress management and coping skills:

  • Challenges in actively applying healthy coping skills to manage daily stressors

  • Problematic substance use with limited healthy activity engagement, even with help of other services

  • Reduced motivation to engage in daily activities, including leisure interests

  • Unbalanced use of technology, including problematic smartphone and social media use

  • Struggles with social skills, including anxiety that limits social participation
